Visit our historic schoolhouse to witness first-hand the artistic output of Eliot School students and instructors of all ages, backgrounds, and disciplines. You will have the chance to connect with experienced artisans and amateur enthusiasts alike over their artistic experiences and creations. This is the ideal opportunity to meet fellow art lovers and crafting fanatics, pick up some recommendations and inspiration, and even find your next favorite art class!

A historic fixture of the Jamaica Plain community, The Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts offers classes to people of all ages in woodworking, fiber arts, book arts, drawing, painting, photography, and other crafts and fine arts. Our mission is to inspire lifelong learning in craft and creativity for all.

Beyond in-house art classes for adults, teens, and children, we actualize our mission through a host of programming that engages students in arts in community regardless of financial means. These opportunities range from our Teen Bridge program (a year-round, multi-year cohort combining art education with experience, life skills, mentorship, job training, and employment for high school age artists) to our school and community partnerships program (which sends artists and artisans to teach woodworking and visual arts in Boston Public Schools and community centers throughout Boston).
