Lesley Art + Design is thrilled to present the Brooklyn Art Library’s internationally recognized Sketchbook Project and its Bookmobile – a converted gelato truck and portable unit of The Sketchbook Project’s public archive featuring 41,000 sketchbooks from more than 130 countries.  Drop by to engage with the Bookmobile’s five to eight hundred sketchbooks and create a sketchbook of your own!

The multi-faceted exhibition and series of public programs for high school students, the university community and the general public will run for one week, culminating in a panel discussion that features Boston artists who have played a pivotal role in The Sketchbook Project. Friday, April 3rd, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in University Hall (1815 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge) Screening Room, Lower Level 030.

The Sketchbook Project is 100% funded by participation.  Participants pay a fee and are sent a 5'x7” blank sketchbook to fill up in the manner of their choice.  Once completed, the books are catalogued and made part of the world’s largest collection of sketchbooks.  Published in 2015 by Princeton Architectural Press, The Sketchbook Project World Tour features a curated selection from around the globe.  This is The Sketchbook Project’s first time in Boston since filing for 501c3 non-profit status.
