Restore- Preserve- Re-purpose: A Panel Presentation
April 2 @ 6:00pm - 8:30pm
29 Tower Road, Newton, MA 02464
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to restore or re-purpose items you own and cherish? Trefler’s, a family owned restoration company since 1921, hosts a panel presentation highlighting unique and innovative ways to preserve family treasures and everyday objects.
Trefler’s Furniture Conservator and Assistant Studio Manager Bernard Murphy will highlight stories of repairing and restoring family heirlooms. His restoration experience covers working in a wide array of areas including over 20 years as an art framer, and woodworking expertise honed since his childhood.
Anne Sasser of Stonybrook Metal Arts & Sculpture School, who previously founded Diablo Glass & Metal, and is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, will join John Hayden, founder of Guns 2 Gardens, to inspire us with details of re purposing a wide array of everyday materials. Their work includes a unique program that transforms dismantled, surrendered guns into artwork.
And, Ashley Berman of Ashley Morgan Designs, who holds credentials in Gold Smithing, Diamond Grading, and Gemology will share beautiful examples of her ability to evoke emotion from jewelry, crafting pieces of art reflective of individual style and personal histories.
