Boston magazine called our facility the city’s “most exciting company headquarters since the John Hancock Tower,” and the Boston Globe wrote that it’s “a visual landmark to match the importance of WGBH as a cultural institution.”
We think it’s a pretty great place, too.
Our state-of-the-art building both reflects and fosters the creativity and innovation for which WGBH is known. We are the #1 producer of content for PBS on television, the Web, and mobile. Many of your favorite nationally distributed shows— Masterpiece, American Experience, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, and Nova,as well as children’s favorites such as Arthur and Curious George—are produced right here in Brighton. Local favorites come to life, here, too, of course, including Boston Public Radio with Marjorie Eagan and Jim Braude; Emily Rooney’s Beat the Press; Open Studio with Jared Bowen; and the longest running program on public television in New England focusing on the interests of people of color, Basic Black.
Our Brighton headquarters also mirror our values and support our public mission. Built using environmentally friendly construction practices, our facility is LEED-certified and includes a solar farm and “green” roof. Our Fraser performance studio is an acoustical marvel and it, along with our Yawkey Theater, allow us to bring amazing, high-quality performances to local audiences. And, as is befitting of a trusted public media institution dedicated to illumination, we built transparency into our studios, allowing passers-by to peek in and see what’s happening on any given day.
We couldn’t be more proud of our home. Please stop by and let us show you around.
