As we celebrate ten years in our expansive “new” home at the entrance of Boston’s North End, we think about our beginnings as a School, our evolution as craftspeople, and the many, varied backgrounds of our community members prior to joining their chosen trades. Join us at North Bennet Street School for a tour of our 2024 Exhibition: Then & Now and see in-person the various ways we celebrate our "then and now."
North Bennet Street School (NBSS) trains students for careers in traditional trades that use hand skills in concert with evolving technology, to preserve craft traditions and promote a greater appreciation of craftsmanship. Since 1881, America’s first trade school remains committed to teaching the whole person while fostering individual growth, attention to detail, and technical mastery. The School’s spacious, 64,000-square-foot facility is located in Boston’s historic North End neighborhood, the community in which it was originally founded 140 years ago.
